Super Bowl XLII - NFC champion New York Giants and AFC champion New England Patriots fought against each other in Super Bowl XLII to decide the NFL champion for 2007.  The Giants won 17-14 causing one of the biggest upsets in the history of the game and stopping the patriots from becoming the first undefeated team since the Miami Dolphins went 17-0 in 1972.

Super Bowl XLI - NFC champion Chicago Bears and AFC champion Indianapolis Colts fought against each other in the Super Bowl to decide the NFL champion for 2006.  The Colts defeated the Bears 29-17.  Peyton Manning was warded MVP for that game.

Super Bowl XL - NFC champion Seattle Seahawks and AFC champion Pittsburgh Stealers fought against each other in the Super Bowl to decide the NFL champion for 2005.  The stealers defeated the Seahawks 21-10.  The stealers won the game with three big plays that converted into touchdowns.
